What is probably the hardest working organ in the body and one which performs its duty approximately 100 000 times per day, without complaining, but treated badly by most of its owners? Yes, the HEART.
This amazing pump which is responsible for circulating 4-6 litres of blood per minute throughout your body, along thousands of kilometres of blood vessels is an amazing and awesome organ!
Latest Science and Research
Recent scientific studies have shown that the heart is NOT just a pump but that it can act like a second or third brain with a degree of consciousness, (the gut is often called the ‘second brain’). The heart contains specialized nerve or brain like cells, approximately 40 000 which have memory and can send signals of communication to the brain. The heart also radiates an electromagnetic frequency energy field up to a few metres from the body. The heart can therefore “think” or “retain information as memory”. This would explain the intuitive feeling that one gets from the heart and why it is also called by some as the ‘soul’ of the body, with feeling and character.
Most people neglect and abuse their heart. The most common factors or agents which damage the heart and blood vessels are:
- Unhealthy diet (deep fried food, excess sugar, refined foods and fizzy drinks, smoked, burnt and preserved food e.g. smoked meat, fish, bacon, barbequed meat, salami, pickled onions, etc)
- Lack of exercise and not enough rest
- Smoking, snuff, vaping, excess alcohol, street drugs
- Overweight and obesity
- Medical disorders (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, gout)
- Medication side effects
- Pollution, toxins and chemicals in water, soil, air, products
- Stress (excessive stress from job, finances, circumstances, etc)
- Social – Psychological – Emotional issues
- Inherited genetic problems
SO – HOW DO YOU LOOK AFTER YOUR HEART?
Bearing in mind that one can only live without oxygen to the brain for about 4-5 minutes under normal circumstances, it is extremely important to prevent a heart attack or stroke which would cut off blood to your heart and brain, resulting in temporary or permanent disability, partial or full paralysis, weakness and chronic fatigue, brain damage, or multiple other problems, or coma and death.
It is time to take your Heart and Circulation more Seriously!
Step No. 1:
Follow a healthy lifestyle. Eat what is good for you and your heart and brain and not just what you ‘feel like’ eating. Avoid the things which damage you or make you age faster. It achieves nothing of value or respect and does not gain you time nor wealth.
Step No. 2:
Go for regular medical check-ups, every 6 months preferably.
Step No. 3:
If you feel any chest pain, or unexplained pain in the upper body region or considerable fatigue or problems with your circulation, consult your doctor immediately, especially if it does not improve or gets worse with exertion, exercise or stress. It may be an impending heart attack.
Step No. 4:
Take specific food supplements which help protect your heart, brain and circulation.
